Swim 21 and L&OBSC Logo
Swim 21Swim21 is an ASA quality standard It demonstrates that we have met a high standard in how we manage Swimmer Development, Teacher/Coach Development, Club Administration and Partnerships. See our Club Management page for more detail on how we run the club.
L&OBSC gained certification at Teaching and Skill Development levels in November 2006 only the second club with two levels in the ASA East Region.

The former Lowestoft Swimming Club achieved Skill Development level in April 2004, the second club in Suffolk to get Swim 21, This was revoked when they amalgamated with Oulton Broad SC in 2005, although L&OBSC did retain the associated Sport England Clubmark status.

We have had a track record of working at a higher level and have been waiting for a number of years for the ASA to sort out their coaching qualification structure, in order to get the required level of formal qualifications. Current plans are for head coach Simon Pickering and for Jill Walker to attend the pilot UKCC Level 3 course being run during 2007/08 at Hatfield. This is being generously funded through Suffolk Swimming Development Officer, Graham Harris.

We have codified how we manage key aspects of our internal processes through these policies and guidelines...
